Less grinding before welding
Bevel laser cutting machine
A bevel laser cutting machine can cut the part shape and weld prep in the same step. Bring more edge work to the laser so your crew spends less time at the grinder.
ARGES BEVEL handles Y, V, X and K plate preps with head tilt up to ±45°. Compare COLOSSUS for large plate and COLOSSUS PROFILE for work that spans plate, pipe and beams.

Prep the edge at the laser
ARGES BEVEL cuts Y, V, X and K bevels with up to ±45° head tilt. Reduce the edge work left for the welding bench.
Size the bevel area
ARGES 3015 lists a 3100 × 1550 mm bevel area and a 3850 × 2200 mm straight-cut area. Plan the nest using the area for the chosen cut.
Support heavy plate
ARGES BEVEL uses a hydraulic lift bed and a thick-plate process pack. Power choices run from 8-40 kW.
Reach around profiles
COLOSSUS PROFILE has a bevel head with 360° rotation and ±135° tilt, driven by FANUC servo motors. Check the finished bevel against the part shape.
Scale up the plate bed
COLOSSUS offers a bevel head option and straight-cut lengths up to 20100 mm. Review the bevel work area for the chosen setup.

FAQ
Questions buyers ask
Which weld preps can ARGES BEVEL cut?+
ARGES BEVEL lists Y, V, X and K weld preps. Its head tilts up to ±45°. Match the angle and land to the weld design before programming the part.
Is the bevel work area the same as the straight-cut area?+
ARGES BEVEL has a smaller listed bevel area than straight-cut area. ARGES 6020 lists 6100 × 2050 mm for bevels and 6850 × 2700 mm for straight cuts. Use the bevel area when checking whether a part fits.
Can laser bevel cutting reduce grinding?+
Laser bevel cutting can reduce grinding by making the weld prep during the cut. The edge still needs to meet the weld design and finish requirements. Some parts may need further cleanup before welding.
Does ±135° head tilt mean a ±135° finished bevel?+
The ±135° value describes COLOSSUS PROFILE's head tilt, not a finished bevel limit for every part. The head also lists 360° rotation and FANUC servo motors. Part shape and access affect the bevel that can be cut.
Which machine fits large plate bevel work?+
ARGES BEVEL is the dedicated plate bevel choice, with listed bevel areas up to 8100 × 2550 mm. COLOSSUS offers a bevel head option for larger plate work. Have an engineer review the bevel angle, thickness and work area together.
